What is an Audio Memoir?

Your Audio Memoir is a personalised podcast, where you get to share your life experiences, wisdom, and unique perspectives.

It allows your memories - told in your voice - to be heard in a deeply personal way by your friends and family for generations.

Listeners connect with the emotions, nuances, and intonations of your voice, creating a powerful and memorable experience.

After all, your voice is a big part of what makes you, YOU.

What do you get?

My skills have been honed through more than 20 years of making radio programmes for the BBC, ITN and Classic FM.

Every audio memoir is a collection of episodes professionally curated, edited and mixed with music that will be treasured by your family and be listened to over and over again.

Our audio memoirs are delivered on a personalised memory stick in its own presentation box. You will also receive a secure digital download link.

How does it work?

I’ll send over a list of prompter questions to you and whoever is being interviewed. This helps to get people thinking about their life, and the stories they want to tell.

We’ll schedule a pre-interview chat, ideally via Zoom or over the phone. This acts as a good ice-breaker and allows time to outline what the storyteller would like to talk about, as well as highlight anything they’d rather not discuss.

We’d also then agree a time and date for me to come to them and do the interview in person.

What happens at the interview?

Firstly, there’s nothing to feel nervous about.

It is really just a chat about your life where you get to tell the stories that have shaped you and stayed with you.

I’m just there to capture it!

I will come and interview the storyteller somewhere they will be comfortable. Most often this is at their home but could be anywhere where they feel relaxed. 

I encourage regular stops in recording to allow for comfort breaks and a chance to walk about and stretch.

Interviews tend to last about 2-3 hours.

How much does it cost?

Each audio memoir is bespoke so the costs can vary, depending on what you want.

Most clients have found an Audio Memoir of 4 episodes, each about 20-25 minutes long works best for them.

​

This costs £975 plus VAT, and any travel costs.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking the interview, with the remaining balance due on delivery of the audio memoir.

How long will it take to make?

After the interview I’ll start the editing process. I will provide you with a first draft clip and episode outline so you can be happy that I’m on the right track.

It takes approximately six weeks after the interview to get your finished audio memoir over to you.
